Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC)

Chemtex Speciality Limited is one of the leading international ISO 9001:2008 certified companies dedicated to provide its clients with leading edge technology in RO membrane pretreatment chemicals to treat RO feed water from scaling, corrosion, organic foulants like bacteria, fungi, algae and inorganic coagulants like PAC (powder & liquid)etc.

Aluminum Chlorohydrate is a group of specific aluminum salts having the general formula Al2Cl(OH)5 AlnCl(3n-m)(OH)m. It is used in deodorants and antiperspirants and as coagulant in water purification.

In water purification, this compound is preferred in some cases because of its’ high charge, which makes it more effective at destabilizing and removing suspended materials than other aluminum salts such as aluminum sulfate, aluminum chloride and various forms of poly aluminum chloride and poly aluminum chlorisulfate, in which the aluminum structure results in a lower net charge than aluminum chlorohydrate. Further, the high degree of neutralization of the HCl results in minimal impact on treated water pH, when compared to other aluminum and iron salts. It is known in names of Aluminum Hydroxychloride, Aluminum Chlorhydroxide, Aluminum Chloride, basic, Aluminum Chlorohydrol and Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) etc.

Chemtex’s Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) is premium quality product manufactured by state of the art technologies.

Equivalent or even better than CHARGEPAC range of products from CHEMBOND ASHLAND etc.

Key Features and Major Benefits:-

A) Municipal and Industrial Water Treatment :
Polyaluminum Chloride Solution is often employed as the primary coagulant in potable water and industrial water treatment plants, replacing the need for other coagulants such as alum, and in many cases also eliminating or at least greatly reducing the need for pH adjustment chemicals, coagulant aids and filter aids. Consistently recognized benefits of converting to a Polyaluminum Chloride are:

  1. Improved turbidity removal
  2. Improved color removal
  3. Increased TOC (Total Organic Carbon) removal
  4. Lower filter turbidities
  5. Increased filter run length
  6. Sludge reduction of 25-75%
  7. Simplified operations by eliminating pH and secondary polyelectrolyte feed
  8. Lower overall treatment costs

B) Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Treatment :
Polyaluminum Chloride Solution is also used in wastewater treatment applications for:

  1. TSS (Total Suspended Solids) removal
  2. Phosphate removal
  3. COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) reduction in industrial wastewater treatment
  4. BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) and TOC (Total Organic Carbon) removal in municipal wastewater treatment.

C) Pulp and Paper – On Machine :
Polyaluminum Chloride Solution is used extensively in several on machine applications as a:

  1. Size bonding agent
  2. Anionic trash scavenger
  3. Retention and drainage aid
  4. Pitch and stickies control additive

D) Separation of slurry in Industrial processes
E) Decontamination of dyes in Textile Industries
F) Sewage Water treatments
